GBUK's Research, Development and Run Like Hell!


I am proud to present the first in a line of products created by GBUK's staff members:

The B.O.O.M. Stick*
*Battery Operated Optical Manipulator.

The B.O.O.M. Stick's primary function is for use in the field and for combat training. The B.O.O.M. Stick features a five hour power cell (Drainage time may depend on size and number of images). The power cell can be recharged via connection to a transformer from the mains line. The B.O.O.M. Stick features a memory card which can store up to ten additional images (both static and moving, number of images which can be stored may decrease depending on general size of the images). The images can be accessed from the memory via their numerical allocation, and can be downloaded from a computer via the digital port. There is also a small display which you can view the images on.

The Ectoplasmic Stasis Field or ESF
(Prototype Unit)

The ESF's primary function is for use in preventing ectoplasmic entities from entering specific areas. The device was invented with the possibility in mind of being adapted for the common market as a way of preventing the hostile intent of paranormal apparitions until such time as the employees of Ghostbusters International could arrive and capture the entities. It's operational perameters are similar to that of the Proton Guns, where beams of concentrated protons are charged and programmed to form a field, thus preventing the apparitions from crossing through the field. The use of the particle beams is to react against the negative charge of the paranormal entities' earthly make-up, the Proton Beams have been widely effective in restraining the entities, and it was only a short amount of time before they were adapted.
There is, however, a short coming in the ESF's design, the prototype field units require a lot of power to operate, while it's possible they can be hooked up with minature power cells, they will currently require a modern mains line to operate. However, the power fluctuationsi inside the prototype device are yet to be controlled, and so have led to a few prototype units melting down and reducing a large area of the test site into a smoking hole, however, Dr. Egon Spengler is confident this can be 'ironed out'.

The Ectoplasmic Stasis Field or ESF
(Mobile Unit)

After intense trial and error, the problem which plagued the ESF's prototype unit has been eliminated, thus creating a stable ESF Unit. However, the original unit was deemed bulky and restrictive in use, so the mobile unit was devised from the technology of the original, it features the same circuitry and features (However revolutionised with year 2000+ style components compared to the prototype with 1993 style components). The ESF Mobile Unit was born. It includes features for beam strength, height and length, a power cell (Only lasts for five hours) a power port (Can be plugged into most electrical mains sockets without feedback issues) and also include wall and magnetic mounts for occasions calling for them. However, the unit is meant to be used in conjunction with other units, one unit will only provide a small area of protection (Such as devidid off half a room). For total coverage more units would require to be installed, but can be programmed to work in sequence or individuality.

Demonic Energy Coded Signatures Unit or D.E.C.S.

Expanding on the options presented to ghostbusting teams by the PKE Meter, the D.E.C.S. expand on demon tracking by utilising coded signatures. After having captured a demon (Preferably dead, but if alive, a cage would need to be utilised) the demon's body is placed upon the scanning pad of the D.E.C.S. As soon as that is accomplished, any PKE readings gathered from the beast during it's capture are dowloaded into the D.E.C.S. Unit, from there, the coded signatures can be compared, if the signatures match, then that's the sought after demon, if not, you're in trouble. The device's main use it tracking down large concentrations of a particular type of demon, or tracking a sole demon which has escaped the range of the PKE Meters. The D.E.C.S. unit will tie into a broadcast antanna on the roof of the HQ, and utilising the radio and phone masts, can perform a sweep of a large area for the signature is programmed in. When the results are bounced back to the device, they can either be printed off, or programmed into a LCD table map to show the positions overlayed on a city map (Printer and LCD map sold seperately). Only downside is that the D.E.C.S. Unit's results of subterrainian scans can be less reliable then above ground scans.

Well...it's been a while since something new came, isn't it?

While I can't go into detail...yet, there has been some development of a new prototype piece of equipment which has been assigned the codename: Hecate.

The Mark II Hecate Sniper Rifel

(Proton Model)

Utilising the cartridge power source system developed in 1997 and the firing mechanism of the existing Proton Pistols, a casing from a discarded Hecate Sniper Rifel, the Mark II Hecate has been produced by GBUK staff member Iain Bennett for use in situations where a space (Such as a crawl space of exceedingly low attic) or precision shooting is required. At present the Hecate can get around 7 concentrated Proton Bolts from a single cartridge...ammo levels can be checked on the built-in energy gauge...however Iain has been investigating if a system can be installed to increase the power load. Extra shots come in the form of a standard Plasma Cartridge and can be attached to a specially customished bandolier that we're working on.

Peck and Hardemeyer - Taking Down the Ghostbusters

I realise this isn't exactly the place to post vehicular designs, but it relates to the on-board equipment.

I am proud to present, fresh from a recent overhaul per the reinstatement of GBUK as Britain's Largest Paranormal Removal Company, the one and only ECTO-UK!

The ECTO-UK!

The vehicle boasts some standardised equipment, Ectoscopes based on the design used on the original Ecto-1, alongside with a ra-dome. Additionally, for marketing purposes, we have adapted the scrolling board as shown on both GBNY's short phased "Ecto-1A" and the West Coast Franchise's vehicles. Also, onboard is storage for both standard ghostbusting equipment and some mountain climbing gear, but also a mobile lab for use in on-site/off-HQ investigation and checmial testing, such as if we're called out to a crime scene.

The vehicle is a refitted 2002 Renault Ambulance , not a Ford Transit Van ambuland as erroniously written in the case files. A picture of the ECTO-GS, as used by the Graveyard Shift will follow soon.
